Course Overview
This course is the perfect introduction to the exciting world of live sound engineering. You will learn the fundamentals of digital mixing, from signal routing and channel processing to effects utilisation and automation. You will also gain hands-on experience with industry-standard digital consoles, so you can develop the skills you need to excel in this field.
In addition to learning the technical aspects of live sound engineering, you will also learn how to set up and optimise sound reinforcement systems for small to medium events. You will learn how to consider factors such as room acoustics, speaker placement, and audience coverage when designing your sound system. You will also learn how to work with wired and wireless audio equipment, so you can handle various audio connections and troubleshoot common issues that may arise during live performances.
By the end of this course, you will be a well-rounded live sound engineer with the knowledge and skills to get started in this exciting career.
*Take note that the course validity is from 4 Sep 2023 to 3 Sep 2025. The 1st run of the course will begin in Oct 2023.
Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to the meet the following criteria:
- Applicants should have basic awareness of audio systems.
- Have at least 1 GCE N Level subject pass OR
- Be able to read, write and speak English at WSQ Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5 and able to manipulate numbers at WSQ Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 5
