Description

Designed for students who aspire to develop essential business skills and apply them confidently before entering the corporate world.

This programme is designed for working professionals and executives who aspire to develop advanced knowledge, practical skills and essential attributes needed to advance or transform their careers in the ever-changing business world by pursuing the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (E-learning) course.

Students will develop the ability to apply their knowledge and understanding of complex organisational issues systematically and creatively, with the goal of improving business and management practice. Students will acquire essential skills in change and risk management and be able to apply strategic decision-making based on critical thinking and analytics in order to succeed in a constantly evolving business environment

Entry Requirements

Age Requirements: 21 years old and above;

Academic Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline.

Language Proficiency: Both local and international students must fulfil the minimum English language entry requirement of one of the following: completed EGA’s Certificate in English (Advanced) level, or overall IELTS 6.5 / PTE 58.5 / Duolingo 105-110 / IELTS Indicator 6.5

Mature Candidates Category: Applicants must be at least 30 years of age with 8 years of working experience.

Modules

Entrepreneurship & Innovation

This module aims to provide students with an understanding of entrepreneurship as a process, including the role of creativity and innovation in creating value through the development of an entrepreneurial venture. Students will have the opportunity to critically analyse the skills and attributes of an entrepreneur and apply creative thinking and judgment to plan and develop a project.

Students will be able to examine the nature of entrepreneurship and its relationship to creativity and innovation, as well as demonstrate an understanding of the skills and attributes required for a successful entrepreneurship venture.

Change Management

This module is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the complex nature of change and the factors that can impact and enhance the prospects for planned organisational change. Students will be able to articulate a perspective on the contextual and conceptual foundations of organisational change and demonstrate an understanding of the processes and strategies that can be applied to lead, manage, and facilitate change within an organisation.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in or evaluate change management programmes and interventions in different contexts, as well as develop the ability to identify and solve complex organisational problems creatively and practically in order to increase the effectiveness of change management. Students will also apply critical thinking skills and evaluate, synthesise, and critically review theoretical frameworks and other evidence to provide solutions to real-world problems.

Organisational Culture & Change

This module helps students to develop strong concepts and skills to increase organisational and managerial effectiveness. Students will understand the factors that impact and enhance prospects for planned organisational development and change, as well as the conceptual foundations of organisation development, including the processes and techniques that can be applied to increase organisational and managerial effectiveness.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in or evaluate organisation development exercises and understand the contribution of effective diagnosis to the change management process. The linkages between organisational change, development, culture, and strategy will also be discussed.

Strategic Management

This module is designed to provide students with an understanding of the strategic management process through exposure to theoretical concepts and current developments in the field. Students will develop an appreciation of the organisation as an integrated system through extensive case analysis, covering a variety of concepts and theories.

Students will have the opportunity to apply the unit’s theories, frameworks, and tools to identify key challenges, opportunities, and solutions to organisational problems and use critical thinking and analysis to make informed recommendations for the organisation’s sustainable performance

Risk Management

This module allows students to analyse issues within organisational contexts, develop a communicative response to an issue, and apply the principles and processes of risk communication to analyse contemporary risk. Students will also have the opportunity to analyse the nature of crises within organisational and/or societal contexts.

Decision Analytics

This module enables students to analyse situations and opportunities where complex quantitative analysis can contribute to business innovations and decisions. Students will identify appropriate analytical approaches to enhance business operations and opportunities in the fields of accounting and finance, economics, marketing, and management.

Students will acquire practical skills through analysing large and complex data sets using sophisticated analytical tools and techniques and communicate complex analytical ideas and findings in a meaningful and easily understood way for a broad business audience.

Upon completion of the module, students will be able to integrate business analytics into multiple levels of decision making including the strategic, tactical, and operational processes.

Graduation Requirements: Students must obtain a 50% pass grade for all modules.

Duration: The programme consists of 6 modules and may be completed after 6 months of full-time lessons or 8 months of part-time lessons.

Full-time: lessons will commence 5 days a week over 6 months, for 3 hours per day with a total of 360 learning hours.

Part-time: lessons will commence 2 days a week over 8 months, for 6 hours per day with a total of 360 learning hours.
