Description

Programme Objectives

This programme has been designed for graduate students with an interest in environmental issues and/or environmental management. Environmental management involves the protection and conservation of natural resources, from the air we breathe, to the water we drink to the ecosystems that support life to the renewable and non-renewable energy and materials that are exploited for modern living and the disposal of waste. On this course one benefits from an applied and multi-disciplinary approach, gaining a working knowledge of biology, chemistry, ecology, geography, geology, and the social sciences, delivered by research and practice-led teaching staff, drawing on case studies and active academic and professional experience. Students will gain knowledge and skills needed to navigate the scientific, social, technological, and regulatory aspects of an environmental management career. They learn how to communicate scientific principles clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders from local community members/groups to national/international governing bodies.
