Description
Course Overview
The Master of Music in Performance (MMus Performance) is a 12-month 180 credits postgraduate full-time programme for accomplished performers with an inquisitive mind and a flexibility to develop their research interests relating to performance.
The course will develop these skills to a more advanced level, encouraging independence of thought and practice.
Graduates will receive a Master of Music in Performance conferred by University of West London.
Entry Requirements
- At least 20 years old
- A Bachelor degree in Music performance or performance, or an equivalent qualification
- For holders of other degree specializations, please provide a sound curriculum vitae/portfolio that includes a list of your musical performances, compositions, or conducting, and other musical qualifications such as performance diplomas (LCM, LTCL, LRSM) or its equivalent
- Pass the Auditions
- Pass English Language Requirements
Pre-Audition Requirements
- Up to 15 minutes of performance
- An unedited recording of two contrasting pieces
Audition Requirements
- 35 – 40 mins
- Different styles from different periods
- Two references from referees (one academic)
- An example of academic writing
- As a guide, repertoire presented should be of LLCM standards.
English Language Requirements
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5, or
- SRMC’s English Placement Test / SRMC’s Certificate in English – Higher Advanced, or
- Other English Language Proficiency Tests (TOEFL etc) – will be considered on a case-by-case basis
