Course Information
Description
This programme addresses learning in schools, workplaces and the community. It connects research and practice in order to make you a stronger thinker, an engaged practitioner and an advanced specialist in a field of education.
The programme addresses the professional learning needs of educators, educational administrators, managers, policy makers and others interested or involved in learning and education or educational work in the wider community, and who may be based either locally or internationally. You will broaden your knowledge of key learning constructs, deepen your professional learning in specialist areas and advance your capacity as a professional inquirer.
Graduation & Degree Awarded
Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the programme structure will be awarded the Master of Education from Monash University, Australia.
The Degree will be the same as that awarded to the on-campus graduates in Australia.
Entry Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a related field with at least a 60% credit-average score and a minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience; OR
- A Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree, Graduate Certificate and/or Graduate Diploma (or equivalent) in any field with at least a 60% credit-average score and a minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience; OR
- A Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree and/or Graduate Certificate and/or Graduate Diploma (or equivalent) in a related field with at least a 60% credit-average score.
Applicants who do not meet the Master’s Degree programme admission requirements will be assessed for entry into the Graduate Certificate of Education Studies programme.
In all cases, the final decision on admission to the programme rests with the University.
English Language Requirement
- IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or equivalent

Delivery
Each term is a 3-month period covering 1-2 modules, a total of 12 credit points.
Classes would be delivered through synchronous online teaching by Monash University faculty, usually once a week, subject to class scheduling.
