Description

Programme Introduction

The effective practices of human resource management are vital in building a team of working professionals in every organisation. The Master of Business Administration (Human Resources) programme is distinctively designed to provide students with the human resource strategies and concepts on corporate headhunting, employee relations, and benefits analysis.

This programme covers a total of seven compulsory core modules along with a final dissertation. With the intent to develop students with exemplary leadership and management qualities, the elective modules evaluate different models of human resource management, policies and practices within organisations.

Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be awarded with the Master of Business Administration (Human Resources) degree by Cardiff Metropolitan University. Following the acquisition of this qualification, graduates can direct and coordinate the administrative functions as a human resource manager across international settings.

Objective

This programme is designed with the intent to develop students with the management qualities to evaluate different models of human resource management, policies and practices whilst demonstrating strategies which are necessary for talent management and succession planning within organisations.

  • Candidates with a minimum of five years relevant management experience who intend to differentiate themselves in the commercial world by attaining a higher degree.
  • Candidates holding senior position in a corporate environment who aspire to upgrade their management skills and knowledge which are essential for them to ascend the corporate rungs.

Entry Requirements

Academic Level:

One of the following must be fulfilled:

  • A degree from a recognised university with a minimum of a 2:2 classification;
  • Hold a professional or other qualification which is deemed as acceptable for admission by Cardiff Metropolitan University and have held a responsible position for a minimum of 5 years.

Selection for this course is through an application form and, where necessary, an interview.

 

English Proficiency: Applicants must have an IELTS score of at least 6.0 or pass the Certificate in Academic English Level 6 conducted by DIMENSIONS or pass the English Proficiency Test at equivalent level conducted by DIMENSIONS or its equivalent. English proficiency may be considered to have been met and an IELTS score may not be required if applicant possesses a highest qualification where English was the sole medium of instruction.
