Description
The Graduate Diploma in Public Service Management programme is intended for public sector employees and those in the ‘third sector’ or not-for-profit organisations, associations and societies who wish to further their understanding and enhance their skills in the administration of public services.
Progressing from the Graduate Certificate in Public Administration and Management, this programme goes beyond fundamentals in public policy-making and management into governance and the strategic aspects of the management of public services.
Learning Outcomes
- Develop understanding of the strategy formulation process and its application in public service management;
- Equip students with tools for strategic planning;
- Enable students to understand the differences between management and governance and the impact of interactive governance;
- Train students in public service performance evaluation and the implementation of performance management systems.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be of age 24 and above and must possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:
- MDIS Graduate Certificate in Public Administration and Management
- Bachelor degree (with 3 years of relevant working experience)
- Mature candidates (≥30 years old with 8 years relevant work experience)
English Language Requirements
Applicants must must possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:
- C6 pass in English at GCE ‘O’ level or equivalent
- Achieve a minimum band of 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent
- Pass the MDIS English Entrance Test conducted by MDIS
- MDIS Professional Certificate in English
- Online English Placement Test conducted by MDIS
- Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English
- Achieve a minimum score of 85 and above in Duolingo English Test
