Course Information
Description
This programme is designed for individuals who aspire to begin a career in the field of travel, tourism and hospitality management or would like to assume greater responsibilities in one of the many ancillary service industries but lack the professional training and wish to have their skills formally recognised. Participants will acquire an integrated knowledge of the best industry practices and the operations of the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industries.
This programme includes field trips and hands-on practicum. The campus has a Hospitality Training Centre (Tropical Breeze) in a hotel setting which makes learning more realistic for the participants.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be of age 14 and above and must possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:
- At least 1 GCE 'O' Level Pass
- NITEC / Higher NITEC Qualifications
- International applicants must have completed 10 years of foreign formal education
- Mature candidates (≥30 years old with 8 years relevant work experience)
- At least 1 IGCSE Level Pass
English Language Requirements
Applicants are required to possess one of the following:
- C6 pass in English at GCE 'O' Level or equivalent
- Achieve a minimum band of 5.5 in the IELTS or eqivalent
- Pass the English Entrance Test (EET) conducted by MDIS
- Completed MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE)
- 1 IGCSE Level Pass (either English 1st or 2nd language)
- Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English
- Online English Placement Test conducted by MDIS
- Achieve a minimum score of 85 and above in Duolingo English Test
