Course Information
Description
The Graduate Certificate Program in Public Administration and Management is intended for public sector employees and others who wish to further their understanding and enhance their skills in the administration of public policies and programmes. The aim of this course is to give a good overview of the key aspects of public administration – from analysis, planning and management to globalisation in today’s economic and political climate. The skills may be applied to a range of public services including health, education and labour etc.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the economic approach to questions of public provision and regulation
- Appreciate the various tools for policy analysis
- Understand the importance of human resources management in public service management
- Understand how administration in the public sector is impacted by globalisation and its evolution
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be of age 21 and above and must possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:
- An undergraduate degree from a recognised university
- Mature candidates (≥30 years old with 8 years relevant work experience)
English Language Requirements
Applicants are required to possess one of the following:
- C6 pass in English at GCE ‘O’ level or equivalent
- A minimum band of 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent
- Pass the English Entrance Test conducted by MDIS
- MDIS Professional Certificate in English
- Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English
- Achieve a minimum score of 85 and above in Duolingo English Test
