COURSE OVERVIEW
The Fundamentals Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (FECCE) programme is specially designed to enable preschool assistants to play a valuable role in supporting the preschool teachers in classroom management and supervision of children aged 18 months to 4 years. Graduate from FECCE may pursue Higher Certificate in Infant Care to become a certified educarer/infant teacher.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Acquire knowledge and skills in the growth and development of the child
- Meet and respond to the basic needs of children
- Plan and deliver quality programs and experiences for young children
- Provide a stimulating and safe environment for young children
- Demonstrate understanding of the roles and responsibilities as a caregiver

- Minimum Secondary 2 level education or its equivalent

Modules
The course comprises of six modules conducted over 4 months on a part-time basis or 2 months on a full-time basis. Students are required to complete 120 classroom hours and 60 practicum hours.
