Description

Programme Objectives

This programme brings an international flavour to degree-level studies in one of today’s faster growing industries.
Students will gain the skills and the knowledge that are increasingly in demand by employers worldwide.
There are exciting opportunities in managing and developing tourism and hospitality businesses.
Students will study highly relevant modules that cover strategic planning for tourism and leisure, international hospitality management, urban tourism and more.

This Programme is Designed

  • To enable students to develop key areas of knowledge and expertise necessary for both employment in the tourism and hospitality industries worldwide and for life-long learning.

  • To contribute to the regional, national and international economies by providing tourism and hospitality education and training for graduate entrants to the tourism and hospitality industries.
  • The overall objectives of the programme aim to maximise both the intended student learning experiences and the student's achievements evidenced by successful completion of the programme of study.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be of age 18 and above and possess one of the following entrance requirements:

  • Higher Diploma in Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management awarded by MDIS
  • Advanced Diploma in Management Studies (Business Administration) awarded by MDIS
  • Diploma in Tourism/Hospitality/ Events Management/ Business related disciplines from local polytechnics (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Level 4/ Year 1 and Level 5/ Year 2 of the University Course) with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Tourism/Hospitality/Events Management/Business related disciplines
  • Mature candidates 30 years old and above with 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Other Diploma and Students with other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Note: All applications are subject to University approval.

English Language Requirements

Applicants are required to possess one of the following:

  • Possess a minimum C6 grade in English at GCE 'O' Level
  • IELTS 6.0 (with no element below 5.5)
  • MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE)
  • Pearson PTE 56 (no element lower than 51)
  • Cambridge English Test Advanced - 169 (no element below 162)
  • Pass MDIS English Placement Test
  • Letter from College / University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English or equivalent
