Description
Programme Objectives:
This programme aims to:
Provide a broad-based and contemporary education in nutrition and health that will encourage students to inquire, analyse and have a critical evidence-based approach to the study of nutrition
Develop the confidence, knowledge, skills and competencies appropriate to graduates in nutrition
Provide a sound foundation in a scientific discipline as a basis for further study, research, professional employment and accreditation registration
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be of age 17 and above and must possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:
For Year 1 (Level-4) Entry
- International Foundation Diploma in Biomedical Sciences awarded by MDIS
- At least 2 GCE A level subjects / BTEC (or equivalent qualification) in science stream subjects or Home Economics (e.g. Food Nutrition & Health)
- Science related diplomas from local polytechnics (GPA 2.0 to 2.49)
- Other PEI's foundation qualifications related to science with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education
For Year 3 (Level-6) Entry
- Relevant polytechnic diploma in Nutrition and Health or related subjects (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Level-4 / Year-1 AND Level 5 /Year 2 of the University Course) with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education
- Relevant PEI qualification in Nutrition and Health or related subjects (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Level-4 / Year-1AND Level- 5 / Year 2 of the University Course) with an
- entry requirement of 12 years of formal education
- Higher National Diploma with an overall Merit (60%) or above in Nutrition subjects
- Mature candidate of 30 years and above with 8 years of relevant work experience
English Language Requirements
Applicants are required to possess one of the following:
- IELTS 6.0 (with no elements lower than 5.5)
- C6 in English at GCE “O” Level
- MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE) (with no elements lower than 5.5)
- Pass in MDIS English Placement Test (with no elements lower than 5.5)
- University approved equivalent
