Description

Programme Objectives

This course provides a broad understanding of the physiology of the body’s major systems as well as human health and disease. This programme enables you to study the cause, diagnosis and treatment of human disease from a multidisciplinary and evidence-based perspective, which will help you with a career in a variety of healthcare and life science settings.

The BSc (Hons) in Health Sciences has been specifically designed for those with an interest in health-related multidisciplinary and evidence-based perspectives while developing the essential transferable skills enhancing the student’s employability in a wide variety of health care and life science settings and its contribution to solving global challenges facing humanity. The aim of the course is to prepare graduates for a broad range of careers within industrial, commercial, health management, government and environmental settings and postgraduate study.

 

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be of age 17 and above and must possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:

For Year 1 entry

  • International Foundation Diploma in Biomedical Sciences awarded by MDIS
  • GCE 'A' level, with a minimum of grade C from one relevant science stream subjects
  • Relevant qualifications awarded by other Private Education Institutes (PEIs) or recognised Higher Education providers in sciences-related disciplines, (which are deemed by the University to be suitable as pathway programmes for entry onto the Level 4 / Year 1 of the University course) with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education

For Year 2 entry

  • Relevant polytechnic diplomas in Science-related disciplines, (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Level 4 / Year 1 of the University course)
  • Relevant diploma level qualifications awarded by other Private Education Institutions (PEIs) or recognized Higher Education providers in Science-related disciplines (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Level 4 / Year 1 of the University course) with an entry requirement of 12 years of formal education

English Language Requirements

Applicants are required to possess one of the following:

  • C6 in English at GCE 'O' Level
  • IELTS 6.0 (with no elements below 5.5)
  • MDIS Professional Certificate in English
  • Pass MDIS English Placement Test
  • Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English or Equivalent
