Description
Programme Objectives
- To enable students to demonstrate relevant knowledge and understanding of organisations, the external environment in which they operate and how they are managed
- To develop and maintain an awareness and understanding of business in a regional, national and international context.
- To develop students with a range of subject specific and transferable skills which will prepare them for a career within a wide range of commercial and not-for-profit organisations and business start-up.
- To develop independent life-long learners.
- To deliver a programme which is attractive to employers at regional, national and international levels
- To widen access to students with diverse educational backgrounds by providing appropriate entry and exit points and appropriate student support and guidance.
- To deliver a programme which assists the School in achieving its mission of promoting and delivering high quality learning and research, relevant to contemporary business and management, through partnership between staff, students, industry and the wider community.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be of age 18 and above and possess one of the following entrance requirements:
- Higher National Diploma in Business related discipline
- MDIS Advanced Diploma in Management Studies (Business Administration/Accounting and Finance)
- Business related diplomas from local/overseas polytechnics with entry requirement of 10 years of formal education
- PEIs qualification (equivalent to 1st and 2nd year external degree programme) with entry requirement of 12 years of formal education
Note: All applications are subject to University approval.
English Language Requirements
Applicants are required to possess one of the following:
- Possess a minimum C6 grade in English at GCE 'O' Level
- IELTS 6.0 (with no element below 5.5)
- MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE)
- Pearson PTE 56 (no element lower than 51)
- Cambridge English Test Advanced - 169 (no element below 162)
- Pass MDIS English Placement Test
- Letter from College / University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English or equivalent
