Description

This business top-up degree course equips students for a career in the world of business. It allows students to build on their experience to develop a stronger understanding of the theories and concepts of business and management in practical situations.

Students will also gain an international perspective and solid foundation to proceed to more specialist roles in the future and meet challenges in an increasingly ever-changing global environment.

Entry Requirements

Local Qualifications

- Satisfy Edinburgh Napier University’s standard entry requirements to the programme by achieving one of the following:

  • An HND in an appropriate business and management subject area; or
  • Have successfully achieved 240 SCQF credits (or equivalent) of which a minimum of 120 credits are at SCQF level 8 (or equivalent).

- At PSB Academy, the applicant must meet the equivalent of:

Entry via Year 3 

- PSB Academy Diploma in Business Administration/Diploma in Business Studies (E-Learning); or

- Applicant with a diploma qualification in business-related discipline such as Business and Marketing or similar from a local        polytechnic, PSB Academy or other Private Education Institution.

- Work Experience (if applicable):

  • Mature candidates (=30 years old with 8 years work experience)
  • Recognition of prior learning: If candidates do not hold any of the above qualifications or awards but have relevant work experience candidates may still be able to enter this programme. Application will be considered on an individual basis, taking into consideration previous study and experience. Candidates will be asked to reflect on previous experience and demonstrate skills, knowledge and understanding equivalent to that achieved on successful completion of the above entry requirements. The university will provide candidates with support in reflective process through interviews and guidance on presenting evidence.

Minimum Age Requirement

  • 16 years old

English Language Requirements (Language Proficiency)

  • As all learning, teaching and assessment activities are conducted in English, if students whose first language is not English (or previous substantive study has not involved teaching and assessment wholly in English), students must have a minimum International English Language Testing System score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with all four elements having a score of at least 5.5; or
  • At least a Grade C at GCE ‘O’ levels; or
  • Completion of PSB Academy’s Certificate in English Proficiency Level 5; or
  • Completion of PSB Academy’s Certificate in Academic English course
