Description
The Diploma in Montessori Preschool Education is a course designed for those who are interested in educating children aged 2.5 to 6 years old. The course combines Montessori’s views on children and education with Montessori’s unique teaching methods, leading students to have an in-depth and specific understanding of the characteristics of Montessori education from theory to practice, including: prepared learning environment, sensory education, Daily life education, work principles, mixed-age teaching and peer guidance, personalized learning, etc.
COURSE PURPOSE
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Acquire knowledge and skills in the basic principles and practices of early childhood care and education
- Understand the development trends of contemporary preschool education theory and Montessori education theory and philosophy
- Master the ability to use children's interaction with the environment to promote children's development
- Understand and appreciate Montessori teaching aids and be able to effectively use them in teaching
- Able to create a learning environment with Montessori characteristics for children aged 2.5 to 6 years old
- Ensure children have a safe and healthy living environment
- Understand the responsibilities of a Montessori teacher
- Ability to plan and teach language and mathematics courses
Entry Requirements
- Passed at least 2 Cambridge GCE 'A' Level subjects (including equivalent qualifications of Chinese GCE 'O' Level with C6 or above) or
- WSQ Early Childhood Education related Advanced Certificate (Mandarin) Equivalent qualification

Class Schedule
This course consists of 6 units, totaling 450 hours. The part-time course lasts 16 months and the full-time course can be completed in 8 months.
Issue Certificate
Students must pass all exams and must meet all graduation requirements. Upon completion of this course, students will receive a certificate from Asian International College.
“This course is not accredited by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA), to the effect that this course is not considered a professional qualification required for registration as a preschool teacher in Singapore. This condition will remain in effect until the AIC provides evidence to CPE that the course has been formally accredited by ECDA.
